يحفل تطبيق الدردشة الشهير الواتساب بمميزات كثيرة، ربما يغفل الكثير عن بعضها، بسبب اقتصار استخدام التطبيق على إجراء المحادثات فقط.
ومن تلك المميزات؛ خاصية تغيير حجم الصور والفيديو تلقائيًا دون استخدام برامج مساعدة، حيث يمكن تغيير حجم مقطع الفيديو، وقصّ أجزاء منه من خلال إرسال المقطع عبر الواتساب لأي مستخدم أو مجموعة، ولا يشترط إكمال عملية الإرسال؛ فيمكن الحصول على عملية خفض الحجم، والقص بمجرد الشروع بالإرسال وإيقاف الإرسال، ومن ثم حفظ المقطع أو توجيهه مرة أخرى.
كذلك يمكن تقليص حجم الصور الكبيرة بمجرد إرسالها عبر التطبيق، لتظهر في حجم أقل بكثير من الأصلي، ومن ثم مشاركة الصور عبر وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي أو البريد الإلكتروني.
ولا ينصح باستخدام هذه الطريقة للصور الاحترافية أو الصور، التي يُراد طباعتها على لوحات كبيرة؛ بسبب تأثر دقة الصورة بعملية خفض الحجم.
