جمع كل واحد من الجماعة (سادي) اللحم من بقرة الاستسقاء. وانطلق بسفرته إلى المنزل. دعا أبو سعيد زوجته. وبدأ تمليح اللحم وتعليقه فوق حبل لكي لا يفسد. اختار منه ما يكفي لعشاهم. توصى في كمية السنام. الدسم يدفي قال لها. ردّت عليه «إلا دفى القلوب ما يهبه إلا ربي. زفر وردد» إن عشت يا راسي كسيتك عمامة. وإن مت يا راسي فدتك العمايم «قالت» ادع ربك في حسن الختام. رأسك أصلع ما عاد يمسك عمامة. وكراعينك لها طقطقة.
اجتمعت الأسرة حول شبة القبس. القدر يفور بالمرق. والرضا مرتسم على الوجوه. صوت الهتان لا يزال يموسق لحن المساء على زنق الكترة. والقطار يتسلل إلى داخل البيت بلطف ويداعب المواعين المعدة لتلقفه. أنجزت أم سعيد عصيدتها. وضعتها في الصحن. حول طاسة المرقة المبهرة بالفلفل الأسود والبصل. البخار يتصاعد وأيادي أفراد العائلة تتخفس وتزدرد. لم يبق من العصيدة إلا قطعة صغيرة. أقسم أبو سعيد على أم سعيد أن تكملها. تطييبا لخاطرها. فيما وزع اللحمة بالتساوي واستأثر بقطعة السنام عادة الكبار.
مسح الزفر العالق بيديه في شقوق القدمين. وحمدالله. وأوصى الصبيان والبنات أن يناموا كون وراءهم من الغد عمل. وقال: تحصبون البلاد شقة. شقة. تخلونها كما العروس. بعد بكرة بنحرث. رددوا بصوت واحد «أبشر». نام الجميع على ستر من الله ومصونة. وفي الصباح انطلقت قافلة الكدح.
كان صيف ذلك العام وفيرا. ببركة البغرة. أبو سعيد من عشاق الزراعة وكلما نظر إلى السنابل المكتنزة ردد «يقول حميد بن منصور. البغرة جد الزراعة». كما يتمثل دائما. وإذا استشعر الكسل في الأولاد قال «قال ابن عقار حقي صاحبي. ذا ما معه حق ما حد صاحبه».
تم الصرام. وانتشرت حزم القمح في المساطح. وتكاثر المتشبرون. اجتمع لأحدهم ديّسة. استودع حبها أبا سعيد. قائلا «عند الله ثم عندك تخلي حنطتي وداعة عندك حتى أدبر لي جمل ينقلها إلى ديرتي». ظل المتشبر شهرا كل يوم يمر يتفقد أكياس حنطته. ويطلب وجبة عصيدة شعير. حتى وصلت مع أبي سعيد فقال «آخه شل حبك. حنطتك أكلت شعيري». علمي وسلامتكم.
