أكد مصدر مسؤول بأمانة جدة منع التجديد -نهائيًا- للمستثمرين على الواجهة البحرية أو إبرام أي عقود جديدة، في توجه يستهدف فتح الواجهة أمام العامة والحيلولة عن حجب البحر أمام الزوار والمنتزهين، وقال: إن الأمانة تسلمت مؤخرًا عددًا من المواقع بعد انتهاء عقودها مع المستثمرين وتحويلها لمساحات خضراء أمام سكان العروس، لافتًا إلى أن ما تم تحريره من المواقع بالكورنيش ومنطقة ذهبان يقارب 230 ألف متر مربع، وذلك بعد انتهاء عقود المستثمرين مع الأمانة.
يذكر أن أبرز المناطق الاستثمارية، التي تم تحريرها فعليًا – وفقا للمصدر – مرسى الأندلس بمساحة 10 آلاف م والجزيرة الخضراء بمساحة 80 ألف متر والنوروس موفنبيك بمساحة 80 ألف م، إضافة إلى ما تم نزعه من مواقع استثمارية بذهبان والمقدرة بـ 110 آلاف متر.
